Foundation elevation surveys, on an iPad
Email is how we handle support. It lets you attach the report or the screenshot, which is usually what settles a question in a single reply — and it means the answer arrives in writing, next to the file it is about.
Four things make a problem fixable on the first reply, and the third is the one people leave out:
If the app closed unexpectedly, say what you had been doing in the minutes before — how many surveys were open, roughly how many photographs you had taken. That kind of detail matters more than it sounds.
On the device, in storage private to the app. They are included in your device backup if you have one switched on. They are not uploaded anywhere — see the privacy policy. To keep a copy you control, export a survey archive; that file contains the whole survey, photographs included, and can be imported on another device.
Yes. Export it as an archive and share the file. Importing always creates a copy, with its own name, so an import can never overwrite work that was not backed up.
Because of the role set in Admin. A report issued as condition documentation reports what was measured — the departure from a straight line, in inches, and where it occurs — and does not apply the L/360 comparison, which is an engineering criterion. Reports issued by a professional engineer include the ratio, the comparison and the ASCE-TX V3 clauses. The measurements are the same either way; what differs is what the document is entitled to conclude.
Below roughly twenty feet, built-in construction unevenness can dominate a measurement, so a figure over a short span means less than it appears to. The app reports the number and declines to attach significance to it, rather than quietly implying one.
No — it means that point has not been shot yet, and the app records that as different from a reading of 0.00″. A point measured level with the reference is a real measurement; a point not yet measured is not, and neither is treated as the other.
Yes. Admin holds your firm's own limitations language and a default statement of what you inspect; both appear in every report, alongside the standard limitations the app generates from the survey itself.
It does not determine the cause of a foundation condition or specify a repair unless a licensed professional engineer is issuing the report, and it says so plainly in the document. That boundary is deliberate, and it is not a limitation we intend to remove.
